Proprietary Programs
Axxam conducts several of its own proprietary discovery research programs to identify and develop leads for a small set of carefully selected, biologically important targets in the therapeutic areas of pain, metabolic disorders and autoimmune diseases.
We apply our in-depth knowledge of HTS-based hit discovery and our corporate compound collection AXXDIV in order to identify innovative small molecule modulators for attractive GPCRs and ion channel targets. During the Hit to Lead phase the hits from our screening campaign are analyzed and similar molecules explored for predictive properties to select the most promising leads for further optimization.
Axxam’s Lead criteria:
- target specific and selective
- chemically feasible
- meaningful SAR
- robust IP (novel structure)
- favorable in vitro ADME profile
- activity in a suitable animal disease model
